About IRMCA

The Indian Railway Mobile Caterers Association (IRMCA) is a national-level organization that has been representing the interests of mobile catering service providers across the Indian Railways network for the past 25 years. As a vital stakeholder in the railway ecosystem, IRMCA has grown into a structured and influential body supporting contractors and service professionals operating on trains throughout the country.

Our members primarily include Cluster Contractors in Category A and B, who operate as extended arms of the Indian Railways. Currently, there are 168 active cluster contracts across both categories, comprising approximately 750 Cloud Kitchens and 900 Trains. These services are powered by a dedicated workforce of 1,00,000 personnel approx. All work tirelessly to ensure the delivery of safe, hygienic, and quality food and beverages to serve 70 Lakhs passengers per day traveling by train.

IRMCA was established with the vision of uniting and empowering mobile caterers, while promoting best practices in food safety, hygiene standards, service efficiency, and compliance with Indian Railway norms. The association actively engages with government bodies and railway authorities to advocate for policy reforms, raise operational concerns, and facilitate effective coordination between service providers and regulators.

Beyond its professional role, IRMCA is deeply committed to social development. We conduct skill development programs, employment generation initiatives, and awareness campaigns aimed at empowering individuals from both urban and rural backgrounds, especially those from underprivileged or marginalized communities. Our goal is to provide meaningful opportunities for training, employment, and entrepreneurship within the railway catering sector, thereby enabling social and economic inclusion.
